ANDERSON COUNTY SCHOOLS and SHERIFF’S OFFICE COMBINED NEWS RELEASE

 Lawrenceburg — Superintendent Sheila Mitchell and Sheriff Joe Milam are pleased to announce that Anderson County Sheriff Deputies B.J. Crane, Philip Crane and Chris Atkins will begin as new School Resource Officers (SRO) for the Anderson County school system beginning January 2, 2019.

Information on the Bearcat Day Non-Traditional Instruction program for the 2018-2019 school year. 
Information Regarding Cancellation, Delays, and Early Dismissal
Winter weather conditions sometimes prompt Anderson County Schools to alter routines or schedules in the district. All schedule changes due to inclement weather are posted on ACSchools.net as well as shared via Facebook , Twitter, and through the local media.

Last week was a challenging and difficult week for Anderson County schools and our local community. We’d like to thank everyone for their support, prayers, emails, messages and calls. Our district is very blessed to have strong community leaders that work collaboratively for the safety and well-being of our students, staff and all of Anderson County.

    Anderson County Youth Recognized for Making a Difference

    The Saving Our Students Youth Coalition of Anderson County received statewide recognition from the Kentucky Youth Empowerment System for their efforts to reduce youth alcohol, tobacco and illicit drug use.

     
    Anderson County Schools Emergency Preparedness Guide
    The safety and security of our students and staff are top priorities for Anderson County Schools (ACSchools). This guide explains some of the procedures that have been planned and practiced to prepare us in the event of an emergency at your child’s school.

    Search and Seizure Policy Update
    The Anderson County Board of Education Search and Seizure policy was updated at the July 2018 board meeting to include procedures for the use of mobile metal detectors (attached).
