Dear Parent/Guardian,

As many of you may know, Anderson County High School’s main building was opened in the late 1960’s. Since that time, there have been several additions and improvements to the building and this summer, the Board approved some additional updates to much of the original portion of the structure. More specifically, over approximately the next 18 months, ACHS will receive updated flooring, lighting, fire alarm, acoustical ceiling grid, windows, and HVAC systems. These renovations will begin before school starts this year and will continue next school year.

We will continue with classes as normal, but there may be times that some classrooms are relocated and/or areas of the building are not be accessible while work is being conducted. Please be aware that there may be areas around campus blocked for construction traffic only or equipment moving around the campus at different times. Numerous planning meetings have been conducted and continue to be held so that the impact on students and daily routines are minimized. Student and staff safety will be our top priority during the entire process.

Much has changed since the late 1960’s and we look forward to bringing the core of our school building in to a much more energy efficient and comfortable state. We ask for your patience as we continue this process. Please contact us with any concerns as we work through the renovation process.

Respectfully,

ACHS Administration
