AES Engineering is pleased to be able to continue offering scholarships to motivated students to help in the furthering of their education.
Scholarship Criteria
Our belief is that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason we are offering a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by an evaluation of the essays that are submitted.
Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility.
You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.
How to Apply
Students must submit an essay of between 500 and 1000 words in answer to the following question:
When you look back on your life in 30 years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful? What relationships or accomplishments will be important on this journey?
Amount of award: $500.00
Deadline for entry: October 6, 2019
Submit essay to [email protected]
There is no application packet for this award. Please do not include your resume at this time.
Be sure to include your full name as well as the name of the school you are attending this year and your plans for next year.
Students in grades 11-12 may apply for the 2020 United States Senate Youth Program, an educational program for outstanding high school students interested in pursuing careers in public service. The program is scheduled for March 7-14 in Washington, D.C.

Students should have above average grades and an interest in government. They also should be articulate, as they will be participating in discussion groups with national leaders.
The program offers two student leaders from each state a $10,000 college scholarship and an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington to see the U.S. Senate in action.
Counselors who have students interested in the program should request an application and a timed test from the Kentucky Department of Education.
The application and test deadline is Oct. 15. Email Donna Melton for an application or more information.

Located in Washington, D.C., we are the world’s only university designed to be barrier-free for students who are deaf and hard of hearing. Our students come from many different cultures and communication backgrounds. This fall, we welcomed over 250 new undergraduate students - 20 percent of whom are new signers. Gallaudet students come from all over the United States and more than 30 countries around the world. Our rich diversity is a huge part of what makes us unique!
With a Gallaudet degree, our graduates can have it all—a strong liberal education, leadership opportunities among their peers, training in cutting-edge technology, direct communication with faculty and staff, and a worldwide network of 20,000+ alumni. 100 percent of our students graduate with at least one internship. Of our recent graduates, 97% are either employed or enrolled in graduate school. We also have a full slate of NCAA Division III athletics, and a robust intramural program!
