Tax Hearing Information

The Anderson County Board of Education held a public tax hearing on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at 6:00pm in the Board of Education building. The Chief Finance Officer provided the board with tax rate options from the Kentucky Department of Education and the general areas for allocation of the recommended additional revenue including: additional School Resource Officer, three new buses, staff salary increase to remain competitive with surrounding districts, and updated telecommunication equipment.  The revenue increase is recommended to be allocated as follows: Instruction ($90,250.30), Safety ($70,000), Transportation ($190,000), Maintenance ($40,000), Building Fund (339,272.99 - Statutorily required nickel tax), and Cost of Collection ($22,562.58).
