Anderson County Schools

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to my little slice of Heaven! It is my esteem pleasure to serve as your teacher for this year. While our current situation may present some challenges I, like my colleagues have been eager for the start of the school year and are very excited about another successful year at ACHS. I am excited about the opportunity to return to service as a member of the social studies department for this school year. While I will continue to serve in a limited capacity as ACHS math intervention specialist, I will be teaching Government, Sports in History, and US history B this school year. My journey in education began long before I entered the classroom as a professional educator. I served as a math tutor while in high school, graduating from Franklin County High School in 1980. It was also in high school, where I first began coaching, assisting my neighbor as a youth football coach. That was 42 years ago. I studied engineering at Murray State University, and later earned a BA in Social Science from Kentucky State University, and a MA in Special Education from Campbellsville University. Over the years I have taught at Union County, Scott County, and Owen County High Schools, as well as spending ten years at Western Hills in Frankfort, before coming to Anderson County in 2018. During that time, I have taught nearly every social science course offered, as well as math from pre-algebra to Algebra II, and served as a resource teacher for many years. I have served as an Athletic Director, Drop-out prevention coordinator, and Football, Wrestling, and Track coach off and on since I began my career. I came to Anderson County because this is where I wanted my granddaughter to attend school. It is my goal to enhance students' skills, guide them to become independent thinkers, and strive to be life-long learners. I am looking forward to learning about my students as they learn from me. Please feel free to contact me at [email protected]

Thank you and have a great day!
