Get ready to jump into kindergarten! This year Anderson County Schools is offering a two day "Jump Start" on July 26th and 27th from 8:00am-12:00pm. SECC Kindergarten Jump Start will be held at Sparrow Early Childhood Center. Jump Start will allow your child to meet some of their classmates, their teachers, our staff, and to become familiar with our school building and routines before the first official day of school. Breakfast, lunch, and transportation will be provided both days. We would love to have your child join us for these two days of kindergarten fun!  If you plan to have your child attend, please fill out the form in the link below by July 15th. ALL NOMINATIONS ARE DUE BY THURSDAY, MAY 19, 2022.  

Sparrow Early Childhood Center is seeking to fill a vacant parent seat on our 2022-2023 SBDM Council.
Parents may nominate themselves or another parent as a nominee for election to the council. In order to qualify as a parent council member, a parent council member must be a parent, stepparent, foster parent or legal guardian of a student attending the school during the council member’s term of office. A parent is ineligible if he or she is an employee or a relative of an employee (father, mother, brother, sister, husband, wife, son, daughter) of that school or for the district central office, or a local school board member or the spouse of a board member. If you are interested in serving on our council, please download and fill out the form below then return to SECC.  If you need a copy of the form, please contact the school office.

Pandemic fatigue and COVID burnout are very real experiences we have likely all felt. We are quicker to snap at loved ones. We frequently feel overwhelmed. We seldom feel recognized when we do put in the effort. Those feelings can be documented across the board in all professions; however, if you have been following national and local news stories then you know that one profession hit very hard with burnout has been educators. Whether it’s due to concern over students’ physical and emotional well-being, worry about students’ academic growth, added stress from a teacher’s growing workload, or concern for their own (or their family’s) social and emotional well-being, educators are drowning.
