See attached BCTC flyer about the Orthotic and Prosthetics Technology Program
One of our goals is to introduce high school teachers and students to the O&P Technology Program offered at the Bluegrass Community & Technical College (BCTC) in Lexington Kentucky, on the Leestown Campus. The Orthotics and Prosthetics Technology Program at Bluegrass provides students the specific technical and clinical skills required to perform the work of an O&P technician. The BCTC O&P Technology Program includes general and core curriculum with specific O&P courses, verbal and graphical communication skills, basic human anatomy, working knowledge of measurements and mathematics, and medical terminology leading to an AAS degree in Orthotic & Prosthetic Technology.

Local Scholarship Packets were made available on Feb. 1st.  Seniors can pick up hard copies in the guidance office or use their school email to access them in the shared Google Drive.  Mrs. Miracle sent an email to seniors.  It must be an Anderson County Schools email address to access the Scholarship folder in Google Drive.  Past graduates may pick up hard copies of the scholarship packet in the main office.  The Anderson County Scholarship can be found at 2023 Anderson County Scholarship at the bottom of the page.

CHI Saint Joseph Health and Kentucky State University (KSU) have a five-year scholarship initiative. Scholarship awards are for two years of an Associate Degree in Nursing or the last two years of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at KSU. At least 30 scholarships will be available each year of this initiative. Of note, a work requirement accompanies this scholarship. Respectively, I am working alongside KSU to find qualified applicants interested in becoming Registered Nurses and working at our facilities. Please click herefor more information. (Please note that the dates for Fall 2023 will be updated shortly.)

I hope this information is of assistance. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. Again, I thank you kindly for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,Melanie--

Hello!

My name is Hannah Litkenhous, and I am the Volunteer Program Coordinator for the Kentucky Historical Society. Our campus is located in downtown Frankfort. We work to serve the local community and the whole of the Commonwealth by interpreting Kentucky's past. We host various special events and programs, from our First Friday lecture series to camps. But to make these events happen, we need the assistance of our community members.  Currently, we have an increased demand for in-person programming and field trips. That is why I am reaching out to you today. We are in need of volunteers!

Specifically, for our VolunTeen Ambassador program, teens ages 13-17 can assist KHS staff with our programs, including Scouting workshops, special events, and our signature school break camps. This is an excellent opportunity to gain work experience, earn valuable service hours for scholarship applications, and meet new friends! Each week of volunteer hours for summer camp totals around 35+, quickly meeting many service club and scholarship eligibility requirements. Plus, we offer many of these opportunities throughout the school year.

All new volunteers must apply, interview, and complete a waiver packet and training. Our current training is set for Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 9:00 am and is required for all new and returning VolunTeens. So, be a part of KHS, and join our mission to educate and engage the public through Kentucky history in order to confront the challenges of the future.

I hope to prevail upon you to share our inquiry with your group and networks. Whether that is posting our flyer on your community board, forwarding this email, or making an announcement at your next organizational meeting. We'd be happy for any support that you can give. Folks interested in becoming VolunTeen Ambassadors for KHS can find more information and apply on our website

Hi, Cynthia,

Beginning this month, your 10th and 11th graders can now qualify for $500 and $40,000 scholarships from BigFuture®! The scholarships are open to all students, with no GPA, test score, essay, income, or citizenship requirements. Every month, we award $500 and $40,000 to students who take steps toward their career and the education they need to reach it.

Tools to Support Students

To qualify for monthly drawings, your students just need to sign in to their BigFuture dashboard and complete steps, beginning with starting a career list and building a college list. The scholarships are also open to 12th graders until February. Visit the BigFuture Counselor Toolkit for resources, including this how-to video and another video to see past winners.

Since 2019, we’ve awarded over $16 million to more than 19,000 students, with most past winners identifying as lower-income. Every month, we surprise our $40,000 scholarship winners at their schools. Will we surprise one of your students next?
