K12 Covid-19 Dashboard Available & Parent Notification Procedures

K12 Covid-19 Dashboard Available

Each day, school administration reports the number of positives and school related quarantines for students and staff using the state reporting tool. Data collected by that tool is available to the public on the K12 Covid-19 Dashboard, located on the KY Covid-19 website. ACSchools Covid-19 plan along with the links above can be found here.

Parent Notification Procedures:

Current Public Health guidelines state if students and staff are masked, 6 feet apart and do not participate in high aerosol risk activities (such as singing, cheering or shouting) quarantine would NOT be necessary. Mask breaks of less than 15 minutes are allowed as advised by KDE.

If a child or staff member tests positive in one of our schools, parents will be notified (see school notification chart below). The timing of the report will determine when communication is received by school administration. Notifications may be sent the following day if received late in the afternoon or after school hours.  When a positive student or staff member is reported, we first contact the local health department and immediately begin assisting with contact tracing. We stay in very close communication with the health department and work together to ensure the safety of all as best we can, based on the information we have. Each case will be investigated by the health department and they will determine who needs to be quarantined and the length of the quarantine. You may be notified by school staff if a quarantine is needed prior to the following school day.  In this event, the health department would investigate the following day.
