The Anderson County School District has received a complaint alleging the unlawful behavior of an Anderson County High School staff member. District and school officials are cooperating with law enforcement and the employee has been placed on administrative leave. There is no ongoing threat to student safety. No additional information can be provided at this time.

It is one thing to say that your school system has the best Superintendent, but it is another thing entirely to have the award to prove it. This year, Anderson County’s Superintendent Ms. Sheila Mitchell was named EKU-CKEC Superintendent of the year.


 
April is the Month of the Military Child
 Anderson County School District is proud to have schools that have earned the Purple Star designation!  The Purple Star Award recognizes schools that show a major commitment to students and families connected to our nation's military.  
 
Community Input Requested: Portrait of a Learner Survey
Anderson County Schools is undergoing a significant effort to create our very own 'Portrait of a Learner.'  The ACS Portrait of a Learner will encompass the skills and competencies we expect our students to acquire throughout their educational journey.  Our Deeper Learning Team has developed a survey to get input from community stakeholders as we shape our portrait.  Please consider completing the survey by this Thursday, 4-6-2023.  Thank you for your involvement and support!

    The great red, white, and navy Bearcats of Anderson County High School: known for their amazing teachers, intelligent students and… coffee? Teachers Mrs. Kristen Shouse, with the help of Mrs. Ashley Norton-Gary, has touched the hearts of many students and staff members this year with a new project—a coffee cart called The Bearcat Cafe Exceptional Brew.
