Anderson County Schools

Our Literacy Curriculum consists of several components to help students make the connection between Reading and Writing.  It includes the five components of reading: phonemic awareness, phonics, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency and handwriting and writer's workshop.  We implement several different programs to assist us in the process and they are Literacy Footprints, Guided Reading, UFLI Foundations, Reading Park, LIPS, Lucy Caulkins' Writing Curriculum, and Handwriting.
The main goal for our students is to experience success in all areas of literacy by guiding them through the learning process.
